Holy Family College is a 120 year old co-educational Catholic School in Parktown, Johannesburg. The school is looking for an innovative and inspiring Librarian to contribute to our quality team. Starting date is 1 January 2026.
We are seeking a passionate and organised School Librarian to join our dynamic team from January 2026. The successful candidate will oversee the management and development of our Primary and High School Library, fostering a love of reading, research, and lifelong learning among our students.
Requirements:
- Relevant qualification in Library and Information Science or an Educational Qualification
- At least 3 years’ experience in managing or assisting in a school library environment
- Strong organisational and administrative skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Self motivated
- A passion for promoting literacy and a positive reading culture among learners
Added Advantage:
- The ability to teach Creative Arts (Grades 4–7) will be regarded as a distinct advantage.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing library resources and systems
- Assisting students and staff with research and reading selections
- Organising literacy and reading enrichment activities
- Maintaining an inviting and orderly library environment
- Collaborating with staff to support academic programmes
