Established in 1879, St Mary’s Diocesan School for Girls is an independent Anglican School situated in Hillcrest, Pretoria. We provide a caring, unique and dynamic educational environment for day scholars from Grade 00 to Grade 12, and boarders from Grade 5 to Grade 12.
St Mary’s Diocesan School for Girls in Pretoria is inviting applications for the following position starting January 2026:
Foundation Phase Intern and or Teacher
St Mary’s DSG strives to create a pathway empowering confident young women of integrity and character to explore their potential and to contribute positively to our nation and the world. The School invites suitably experienced candidates, who are dynamic, enthusiastic and innovative graduates in possession of a teaching qualification (studying towards PGCE, Honours or Masters’ degree in Education), to apply for the opportunity to be a Foundation Phase Intern or Teacher in the Junior School.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Recently completed B.ED Foundation Phase or currently studying towards final year, Honours or Masters’ Degree.
- Have an understanding and willingness to contribute towards creating an integrated classroom environment
- Proficient in the English language
- Experience and or specialising in Learning Support an advantage
- Experience in Grade 1 or 2 or having done your teaching practical’s in those grades would be an advantage
- Strong organisational and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of THRASS, Read Write Inc or Rave-O would be an advantage
- Computer literate
- Willing to support the Christian (Anglican) ethos of the School
- Willing to become fully involved in the extramural programme
- SACE registration an advantage
- To start January 2026
