Purpose of Role
The Inside Facilities Maintenance Assistant helps keep the school building in excellent condition and supports the SPARK culture of a world-class learning environment. The role includes general maintenance support, safety checks and ensuring the premises are welcoming and well organised for students, staff and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
Facilities Upkeep
- Maintain the upkeep of the school building, gardens and grounds.
- Report facilities maintenance issues to school leadership and assist with repairs where applicable.
- Ensure that the premises are safe for students, staff and parents.
Operational Support
- Assist with ad-hoc tasks such as moving furniture and setting up for events.
- Assist with welcoming students during daily arrivals and dismissals, as required by school leadership.
- Manage tools and equipment; report damaged or lost items for fixing or replacement.
Communication & Collaboration
- Communicate professionally with staff, parents and other stakeholders as required.
- Participate in staff development opportunities as part of the SPARK team.
- Maintain professional conduct at SPARK events and with all stakeholders.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Grade 12 certificate
Experience
- Previous maintenance and/or grounds keeping experience is preferred
Competencies
- English language fluency
- Clear/clean Criminal Record
