Purpose of Role

As a Personalised Learning Facilitator, you drive student achievement in the foundation phase by supporting the Learning Lab. You work with students in whole-class, small-group and one-on-one settings to deliver literacy and maths interventions, while embedding SPARK culture and SEL practices.


Key Responsibilities

Culture & Behaviour

  • Foster a positive culture around online learning and small-group tutoring
  • Maintain high behavioural expectations for all students
  • Model SPARK values in all interactions and events

Teaching & Learning

  • Coach students on computer programs and ensure educational software meets needs
  • Create and submit lesson plans for tutoring sessions
  • Tutor small groups in literacy and maths skills
  • Incorporate SPARK SEL curriculum into practice
  • Submit bi-weekly reports on ST Maths

Collaboration & Administration

  • Collaborate with teachers and school admins to develop individual learning plans
  • Ensure Learning Lab resources are used and stored responsibly
  • Report hardware damages and maintain asset lists with the School Operations Manager
  • Cover in a classroom when needed

Professional Development & Compliance

  • Engage in staff development and maintain professional conduct at SPARK events
  • Adhere to SPARK policies and standards at all times

Minimum Requirements

Education

  • Grade 12 Certificate
  • Part-time study towards a B.Ed. or PGCE in Foundation Phase, in 3rd or 4th year, with a view to becoming a qualified teacher
  • Provisional SACE registration

Experience

  • Previous experience with primary school-aged children
  • Basic computer skills and willingness to learn new technology
