Purpose of the Role
The role supports the delivery of future-focused Visual Arts and Creative Arts education in a high school setting. The successful candidate will plan, deliver and assess engaging programmes, while collaborating with peers, parents and the wider learning community to uphold the school’s standards of excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Academic Delivery
- Plan, organise and implement appropriate instructional programmes for the FET/high school phase
- Deliver future-focused education that motivates, inspires and challenges students
Assessment & Reporting
- Assess student progress and provide clear, constructive feedback
- Prepare accurate reports on student performance
Behaviour & Community
- Maintain constructive partnerships with colleagues, parents, guardians and the community
- Model professional behaviour, integrity and high standards of professionalism
Administration & Safety
- Handle administration related to teaching duties and school operations
- Contribute to Health & Safety within the school environment
Minimum Requirements
Education:
- A degree (NQF level 7) and PGCE or B. Education (FET) with a specialisation in the teaching subjects
Experience:
- 2–5 years teaching experience
- 2–5 years specialist subject teaching

- Computer and digital literacy
- First Aid
- Communication and collaboration within a diverse learning community
- Lifelong learning and ongoing professional development
