About the role
Educators in the FET phase plan, organise and implement instructional programmes in a high school setting to help students progress toward mastery and prepare for life after graduation. You will work to deliver future-focused education, build constructive partnerships with families and communities, and contribute to a positive learning climate.
Purpose of the role
The role exists to deliver high-quality Afrikaans instruction in the FET phase, assess and report on student progress, and contribute to the school’s academic and community standards. You will collaborate with colleagues to create an inspiring, safe and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
Academic Delivery
- Plan and deliver future-focused Afrikaans instruction.
- Ensure student progress toward academic mastery and life skills.
Academic Assessment & Reporting
- Assess, monitor and report on student achievement and growth.
Behaviour & Community
- Maintain constructive behaviour management and contribute to a positive school climate.
- Act as a school ambassador and uphold the brand and values in all interactions.
Administration
- Manage administrative tasks related to teaching duties and record-keeping.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Degree (NQF level 7) and PGCE or B. Education (FET) with a specialization in the subjects to be taught
- SACE certification and police clearance
Experience
- 2–5 years teaching experience
- 2–5 years specialist subject teaching
- Computer and digital literacy
- First Aid

- Strong planning, organisation and detail orientation
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication with professional presentation
- Good professional relationships and high emotional intelligence
