Purpose of Role
The School Operations Supervisor ensures the health, safety and engagement of scholars during lunch, break, and aftercare. They support a class of students, plan enrichment activities, and collaborate with school leaders to uphold SPARK culture and high standards of student care and welfare.
Key Responsibilities
Supervision & Safety
- Supervise lunch and break periods during the instructional day.
- Enforce SPARK’s healthy food scheme by checking scholar lunches.
- Ensure safety of all scholars during aftercare following network procedures for dismissal and late pick-up.
Aftercare & Enrichment
- Supervise aftercare, including homework support where needed, play and structured activities.
- Plan engaging enrichment experiences for extended Monday afternoon aftercare.
- Manage aftercare resources responsibly and effectively.
Communication & Collaboration
- Communicate professionally with parents and line managers about incidents or concerns.
- Collaborate with school leaders and staff as required.
- Participate in staff development and maintain professional conduct at SPARK events.
Ad hoc Duties
- Assist with occasional tasks such as learning lab support, covering for absent staff, or event setup.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Grade 12 certificate
- English language fluency
- Clear criminal record
- Studying towards a First Year B.Ed Degree (preferred)
Experience
- Previous experience managing or working with primary school-aged children
