Purpose of Role
The Lunch and Aftercare Supervisor is responsible for the safety, health and engagement of scholars during lunch, break and aftercare. They model SPARK culture, supervise activities, and support learning through developmentally appropriate supervision and enrichment.
Key Responsibilities
Administration & Safety
- Supervise lunch and break periods during the instructional day.
- Enforce SPARK’s healthy food scheme by checking lunches and ensuring clean, safe dining practices.
- Follow network-wide safety and dismissal procedures for aftercare and late pick-ups.
Learning Support & Enrichment
- Supervise a class of students during aftercare, including homework help when needed, play and structured activities.
- Plan engaging enrichment experiences for Monday aftercare sessions.
- Ensure aftercare resources are used responsibly and effectively.
Communication & Collaboration
- Communicate professionally with parents and line managers about incidents, conflicts or concerns.
- Collaborate with school leaders and staff as required.
Ad hoc Duties & Professional Development
- Assist with ad hoc tasks such as Learning Lab facilitation, covering for absent staff or event setup.
- Participate in staff development opportunities and maintain professional conduct at SPARK events.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Grade 12 certificate
- Clear criminal record
- English language fluency
Experience
- Previous experience managing or working with primary school-aged children is preferred.

- Remuneration: R6,489.00 CTC per month
