FIXED TERM – ENGLISH TEACHER

(1 February 2026- 4 April 2026)

St Alban’s College, one of South Africa’s leading independent boys’ high schools, seeks to employ an English teacher for term 1 (1 February 2026- 4 April 2026). The position is an opportunity for a teacher who is experienced, talented, and creative and who will foster enthusiasm for English and maintain a high standard of achievement.

The ideal candidate will be an English teacher who is well entrenched in the IEB environment and have a successful track record in teaching English.

The ideal candidate:

• Must be SACE registered.
• An appropriate academic degree.
• Be suitably qualified and experienced in the subject, preferably with IEB Matric experience, conversant in the IEB curriculum and IEB assessment procedures.
• At least 5 years of experience teaching the IEB curriculum, from Grade 8 to Grade 12.
• Be prepared and enthusiastic about teaching English and creating content.
• Have well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
• Be a committed, dynamic educationalist, with an innovative use of technology to enhance learning and have a practical approach to the subject.
• Be willing to work constructively and collaboratively with other members of the English team.
• Be knowledgeable of current educational trends and understanding of the dynamic landscape of our country.
• Competence in terms of computer literacy – especially Google docs, sheets, and classroom.
