Foundation Phase Internships

At St Mary’s, we are committed to developing future teachers who will have a positive impact on their students and communities. We invite candidates to apply for an internship in the Foundation Phase (Grade R – 3). The successful candidates will receive a contract to intern with St Mary’s for a year.

Date of commencement – January 2026

Applicants for an Internship must:

• Be studying in 2026 towards a teaching qualification relevant to the phase you are applying for.
• Be warm, honest, interested in school life, have an excellent work ethic and values that align to the School’s Christian ethos.
• Be flexible to assist in any aspect of teaching and be willing to do two extra-mural activities per week.
• Subscribe to our mentorship programme, which encourages and develops modern, effective teaching and pastoral skills.
• Have a high level of competency in IT integrated teaching and be willing to learn new skills.
• Be able to work in an inclusive environment.
