FOUNDATION PHASE MUSIC AND DRAMA TEACHER
COMMENCEMENT: JANUARY 2026
Requirements:
- the ability to identify with the values and ethos of the school
- have a suitable professional teaching qualification with SACE registration
- have a musical qualification that includes Grade 7 Level Piano
- be experienced in teaching at the Foundation Phase level
- be passionate about teaching boys
- be able to teach an individual instrument as an added advantage
- work well in a team of well-qualified, motivated, professional staff
- have suitable experience in smartboards/iPads as an aid for teaching
- have effective communication, organisational and administrative skills
- Criminal and Sexual Offenders Clearance Certificate
Key Performance Areas:
- teach class music from grades R to 3
- teach Speech and Drama grades 1 – 3
- facilitate a beginner recorder programme
- accompany hymns and liturgical singing in Chapel
- facilitate a weekly hymn practice
- direct and conduct the foundation phase choir and collaborate with the SP Choir Director for combined choir performances e.g.
- Easter Services, Carol Services, Music Evenings
- produce, coordinate and accompany the annual FP School Play (Grade 1 -3)
- manage, coordinate and accompany the annual Grade R Nativity Play
