GDE application 2023 MEC of Education, Matome Chiloane, just announced the dates for Grade 1 and/or Grade 8 applications for Gauteng public school 2024 academic year to begin.

• Opening Dates: Thursday 15 June 2023, Time: 08h00
• Closing Dates: Friday 14 July 2023, Time: 23:59

Parents or legal guardians of learners who are starting school for the first time, changing schools, or moving to a new area need to register their children with the GDE within the above dates. Grade R learners are NOT automatically accepted in Grade 1 at the school where they are currently enrolled at.
