The big day for Gujarati FAL P1

Mark this date down everywhere, in your mind, on your calendar, even tell your Mummy and Daddy so they can remind you. Your Gujarati FAL P1 matric exam for 2025 is set for Tuesday, October 21, 2025. And the time? Well, the bell will ring at 14:00, which is two o’clock in the afternoon. So, you need to be sharp and on time, actually, arrive early, neh?

Revise, revise, revise before the exam

Preparation, that’s the key to feeling cool and calm when you walk into that exam hall. You want to feel confident, like you’ve got this. Start your revision nice and early. Don’t leave it all for the last minute, that just brings unnecessary stress. Go through your notes, practise those past papers, read your prescribed texts again and again. Understand the grammar, the vocabulary, how to structure your answers for different types of questions. If you are not sure about something, ask your teacher! They are there to help you, don’t be shy. Remember, consistent effort is like depositing money in a bank account, it will give you great returns.

On the exam day, what to do?

When the big day arrives, wake up with a positive mindset. Eat a good breakfast, not too heavy, but enough to keep your brain working. Give yourself plenty of time to get to the exam centre. Aim to be there at least an hour before the start time. This gives you breathing room, time to find your venue, settle your nerves, and maybe have a quick chat with your friends, just to calm down before the serious business starts. Don’t rush; rushing only makes you forget things or feel more anxious.

Things to take with you for Gujarati FAL P1

Okay, this is important, so listen carefully. For your Gujarati First Additional Language Paper 1, you will need some specific things. Do not forget these, please!

• Your ID book or official identification: No ID, no entry. This is non-negotiable, dikra.
• Pens: Black or blue ballpoint pens, at least two or three good ones. Make sure they are not running out of ink. You don’t want to struggle with a pen that skips while you are writing fast in Gujarati.
• Pencils: For any rough work or if you need to draw something small, though typically not for Gujarati FAL P1.
• Eraser and sharpener: Just in case.
• Ruler: For drawing lines or underlining.
• Clear pencil case: So the invigilator can see everything inside easily.
• Water bottle: A clear bottle of water. Staying hydrated helps your brain function better.
• Your exam timetable: A printed copy so you can quickly double-check the paper details.

Leave all your notes, textbooks, and cellphones at home or in your bag outside the exam room. There is zero tolerance for these items inside.

Your behaviour matters a lot

Inside the exam hall, remember your manners and follow all instructions from the invigilators. Listen when they tell you to fill in your details on the answer sheet. Do not talk to anyone else, do not look at other people’s papers. Cheating is a very serious offence and can lead to you being disqualified, and nobody wants that. If you have a question, raise your hand quietly and wait for an invigilator. When they give you the paper, read all the instructions carefully before you start writing. Take your time, understand what each question is asking, especially in Gujarati.

How to remember the date, dikra/dikri

Apart from writing it down and telling your parents, put a reminder on your phone. Stick a note on your fridge. Tell your best friend to remind you. Make it impossible to forget. Knowing the date and time perfectly means one less thing to stress about. You can then channel all that energy into your studies.
