Purpose of Role
The Senior Phase Sign Language Educator uses content expertise in reading, writing and Sign Language to drive student achievement. You will contribute to an integrated inquiry-based curriculum and support both high and low performing scholars while upholding SPARK’s culture and values.
Key Responsibilities
- Teaching & Delivery
- Plan, teach and co-teach face-to-face and distance lessons across senior phase content areas.
- Deliver academic and club lessons, while adapting for individual learner needs.
- Participate in scheduled professional development sessions.
- Assessment & Data
- Develop formative and termly assessments; analyse data to track progress and intervene where needed.
- Submit and review scholar data to inform targeted support.
- Behaviour & Support
- Lead social and emotional development through CQ sessions and reflections.
- Plan and monitor programmes to support low performing scholars or extend high performers.
- Collaboration & Communication
- Collaborate with grade-level and content-area partners to create engaging learning experiences.
- Communicate professionally with colleagues, parents and other stakeholders; attend SPARK events and parent meetings.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Completed B.Ed or PGCE in Second Additional Language
Experience
- Sign Language fluency; SACE registration
- Experience in senior/ FET phase preferred
