An Independent, Christian day school situated in Melrose, Johannesburg, Kingsmead provides an excellent, all rounded education to girls from Grade 000 to Matric.

PERIPATETIC PRE-SCHOOL (GRADE 000 & 00) MUSIC TEACHER

January 2026

The Music Department seeks to employ an innovative, creative educator who is eager to join the dynamic Arts & Music team in a peripatetic role.

The successful applicant must meet the following criteria:

• BMus degree or equivalent qualification.
• Experience in teaching the age group 3-6 in Grade 000 & 00.
• Comfortable in at least one instrument, ideally competent at the piano.
• A comprehensive understanding of cognitive education and the thinking skills embedded in the Kingsmead curriculum.
• An innovative and inclusive approach to teaching girls, a willingness to research and apply best practices concerning differentiation and inclusion, specifically in girls’ education.
• The desire to engage with the ethos and spirit of Kingsmead.
• A team player who will collaborate with the Music teaching team across the college.
• A creative educator, able to choose appropriate music to produce an annual mini production for parents to showcase the girls’ learning and experience in the music class.
• A current SACE accreditation.
