Purpose of Role
The Personalised Learning Facilitator drives student achievement in the foundation phase by leading the Learning Lab, supporting whole-class, small-group, and individual interventions in literacy and maths, and embedding SPARK’s culture and SEL Curriculum.
Key Responsibilities
Learning Lab Management
- Create a positive student culture around online learning and small-group tutoring; maintain high behavioural expectations.
- Coach students on computer programs and ensure educational software meets learning needs.
- Maintain an up-to-date asset list and report hardware damages as required.
Curriculum Delivery
- Create and submit lesson plans for tutoring sessions; tutor literacy and maths in small groups.
- Submit bi-weekly reports on ST Maths; incorporate SPARK SEL curriculum.
- Collaborate with teachers and school administrators to develop individual learning plans.
Admin & Quality
- Ensure resources are used responsibly and stored properly; participate in staff development.
- Maintain professional conduct at SPARK events and with stakeholders.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Grade 12 Certificate.
- Provisional SACE registration.
- Part-time studies toward a B.Ed. or PGCE in the Foundation Phase (3rd or 4th year) with the aim of becoming a qualified teacher.
Experience
- Experience with primary school-aged children.
- Basic computer skills; willingness to learn new technology.
Competencies
- Fluent English; clear criminal record.
- Desire to work in a technology-driven, collaborative environment; commitment to high-quality, affordable education.
- Ability to deliver engaging, transformational learning with a team mindset.
