Cedarwood School is looking for Preparatory School Grade 3 Teacher – closing date is 21 of November 2025

Cedarwood School is an inclusive, remedial Preparatory School (Grade R – Grade 6) and College (Grade 7 – 12) situated in the congenial country setting of Glenferness, North of Lonehill, for children who have mild to moderate support needs that prevent them from coping adequately in a mainstream school environment. Cedarwood School is equipped to provide a supportive, non-competitive environment where pupils can regain lost confidence and work to the best of their abilities and potential.

The following permanent position will become available on January 1, 2026.

Preparatory School Grade 3 Teacher

Position Requirements:

  • Must be able to teach all Grade 3 subjects, as per CAPS Curriculum.
  • Must be able to apply various methodologies to make the curricula accessible to pupils.
  • Be capable of differing their teaching to meet the individual needs of their pupils.
  • Hold a teaching qualification for the Foundation Phase.
  • At least 5 years of teaching experience – preferably in a remedial school.
  • Fully versed in Grades 1-3 CAPS curricula.
  • Fluency in English (reading, writing and speaking).
  • Permanent SACE Registration.
  • Have a Police Clearance and Sexual Offenders Clearance Certificate.
  • Fully computer literate and proficient in MS Office.
  • The successful candidate must align with the school’s ethos, culture, and values.
  • Demonstrate patience and kindness and be invitational in their teaching approach.
  • Show attention to detail, willingness to go the extra mile, able to work late when needed and openness to feedback.
  • Able to analyse outcomes and results and integrate findings into comprehensive reports.
  • Self-managed, dependable, and able to inspire confidence.
  • Exhibit strong time management, communication, and project management skills.
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and a growth mindset.
