Purpose of Role
To supervise student activities during lunch, break, and aftercare; to ensure safety, health, and engagement, while supporting teachers and school leadership in delivering a rigorous, engaging learning experience.
Key Responsibilities
Administration & Compliance
- Supervise lunch and break periods in accordance with school policies.
- Ensure the healthy food scheme is followed by checking lunches.
- Maintain professional communication with parents and line managers about incidents or concerns.
Student Support & Enrichment
- Supervise a class during aftercare, assist with homework if needed, and run structured activities.
- Plan engaging enrichment experiences for Monday afternoon aftercare.
- Ensure resources are used responsibly and effectively.
Safety & Collaboration
- Ensure the safety of all scholars during aftercare and follow network-wide procedures for dismissal and late pick-ups.
- Collaborate with school leaders and staff as required.
- Assist with ad hoc tasks, such as Learning Lab facilitation, covering for absent staff, or event preparation.
Professional Development
- Participate in staff development opportunities and conduct oneself professionally at SPARK events and with stakeholders.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Grade 12 certificate.
- English language fluency.
Experience
- Previous experience working with primary school-aged children or in a supervision/leadership role.
Competencies
- Clear criminal record.
- Studying towards a First Year B.Ed Degree is preferred.
