What to pack for your Xitsonga FAL P3 exam
When the big day arrives, you need to be prepared with all the necessary items. Make sure everything is organised the night before. Here is a handy list of things you should definitely take with you to the exam hall for your Xitsonga FAL P3 paper:
- Your valid South African Identity Document (ID) or passport. This is non-negotiable; u nga rivali! No ID, no exam, unfortunately.
- Several black or blue pens that write smoothly. You will be doing a lot of writing, so make sure they are reliable.
- A clear pencil case. All your stationery should be in a transparent container.
- A pencil and an eraser, just in case you need to make some quick notes or sketches.
- A transparent water bottle. Staying hydrated helps your brain function better.
- A non-programmable calculator, although for Xitsonga FAL P3, you probably won’t need it. But it is good practice to always check if your subject requires one.
- A watch (analogue only, no smartwatches allowed!) to help you manage your time effectively during the exam.
- Your exam statement of entry. This confirms your details and the exams you are writing.
Make sure you do not bring any cell phones, smart devices, notes, or any unauthorised materials into the exam venue. Swi nga ku endlela xiyimo xo biha ngopfu (It can lead to a very bad situation for you).
On the day: Arriving and behaviour
On Tuesday, October 28, 2025, plan to arrive at the exam venue at least 30 to 45 minutes before 09:00. This gives you enough time to settle in, find your seat, calm your nerves, and listen to any last-minute instructions from the invigilators. Being late will only add unnecessary stress. Once you are in the exam hall, maintain silence. Listen carefully to all instructions given by the invigilators. Read your question paper thoroughly before you start writing and manage your time wisely. Be respectful to fellow candidates and invigilators. U nga endli swo karhata (Don’t do anything troublesome).
Reminding yourself and staying calm
To avoid forgetting the date and time for your Xitsonga FAL P3 exam, write it down in multiple places. Put it on your study timetable, set reminders on your phone (but remember, no phones in the exam hall!), tell your parents or guardians to remind you, and even make a big poster for your bedroom wall. Leading up to the exam, it is natural to feel nervous. Practice relaxation techniques like deep breathing. Get enough sleep, eat healthy meals, and believe in yourself. You have worked hard for this; now it is time to show what you know. Ahi tirheni hi matimba (Let’s work hard) and good luck, Class of 2025!
