AFRIKAANS & ENGLISH TEACHER – PRIMARY SCHOOL- Grade 1-3
- Contract: Fixed Term (1 Year)

JPI invites applications for a passionate Afrikaans & English Teacher to inspire a love of languages, literature and learning excellence in Primary School learners. Open to experienced educators and 2025 graduates.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and effective Afrikaans lessons that foster a love of language, literature and communication
- Teach the Afrikaans curriculum creatively, adapting lessons and pedagogies to meet diverse student needs and promote holistic growth
- Teach English curriculum to meet standards
- Create a stimulating classroom environment that nurtures curiosity, critical thinking and confidence in language use
- Develop and update lesson plans, schemes of work and assessments to support curriculum goals and monitor student progress
- Set clear learning objectives, provide constructive feedback and adjust teaching strategies to enhance individual development
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments and progress reports
- Participate actively in staff meetings, professional development and whole-school initiatives
- Engage in extracurricular and co-curricular activities that enrich students’ learning experiences
- Communicate effectively with parents, guardians and colleagues to support each student’s academic and personal growth
Requirements
- Minimum Qualifications: a degree (NQF level 7) and PGCE or B. Education Primary with a specialization in the subjects to be taught Afrikaans and English
- SACE registration and Police Clearance required.
- Experience Afrikaans teacher with English qualification preferred; novice graduates may apply.
- Strong classroom management, organisational, and communication skills.
- Computer literate and able to integrate technology into lessons.
