Purpose of the Role
The Aftercare Teacher will support our students after school hours, providing safe, respectful supervision and engaging activities that reinforce learning and wellbeing. This role helps ensure a smooth transition from classroom to aftercare while upholding our school values.
Key Responsibilities
Supervision & Care
- Supervise children during aftercare hours in a safe and welcoming environment.
- Support routines, emphasise safety, and model positive behaviour.
Programme Delivery
- Facilitate structured activities and light educational tasks aligned with school policies.
- Encourage participation, creativity, and collaboration among pupils.
Communication & Administration
- Maintain clear communication with parents and school staff as required.
- Assist with attendance logs and basic record-keeping for aftercare sessions.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Basic education or equivalent; relevant child-care or education qualifications are advantageous.
Experience
- Experience working with children in an educational or care setting is preferred but not essential.
Competencies
- Patience, empathy, and a calm, positive approach.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to organise activities and maintain a safe environment.
