Purpose of Role
The Compliance Officer will coordinate, support and advise the SPARK network on Health, Safety and Compliance. They will establish, manage and monitor standards, processes and communications to ensure facilities comply with safety legislation and that safety policies are applied across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Health & Safety Compliance
- Ensure adherence to Health, Safety and Operational policies through regular reviews and network-wide communication
- Maintain a safe workplace and mitigate health risks
- Oversee statutory compliance, mandatory training and reporting
- Conduct risk assessments and site inspections; document and investigate accidents
Risk Management & Training
- Manage safety inspections, fire drills and alarm reporting
- Oversee risk assessments and lone working procedures; maintain records
- Develop and facilitate a structured health and safety training programme
- Collaborate with external consultants for specialised training
Reporting & Standards
- Provide regular reporting on health and safety activities and metrics
- Stay informed on legislation and communicate changes to the network
- Draft health and safety strategies and internal policies
- Investigate incidents, complaints and occupational ill health; implement improvements
Operations & Collaboration
- Coordinate with facilities and security to monitor emergencies and equipment
- Verify proper installation of equipment and identify hazards
- Travel as required; assist with other duties as needed by management
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Diploma or degree in a related field
Experience
- 1–3 years in a related field
- Experience with regulatory compliance and procedure drafting
- Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Multi-site management is an advantage
