Purpose of Role
The Part-time Assistant Directress will support the Montessori 3–6 learning environment, help manage the classroom and assist with aftercare. The role is suitable for a qualified Montessori teacher, someone studying toward a Montessori 3–6 diploma, or a candidate willing to undertake training.
Key Responsibilities
Classroom Support & Montessori Delivery
- Support classroom management and deliver Montessori-based learning for children aged 3–6.
- Observe, support and nurture children’s independence, social and emotional development.
- Help maintain a calm, orderly classroom with a full set of Montessori materials.
Aftercare & Community
- Assist with the school aftercare programme.
- Build respectful, professional relationships with staff and engage in ongoing learning.
Safety & Standards
- Maintain high standards of safety and care at all times.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Montessori qualification, currently studying for one, or willingness to study for a Montessori 3–6 diploma.
Experience & Competencies
- Understanding of child development for ages 3–6.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Calm, patient, reflective approach to working with young children.
