Purpose of Role

The Deputy Head of School / Deputy Principal leads educational strategy and school operations to support student achievement. The role focuses on curriculum leadership, staff development, and effective governance to sustain a thriving school climate.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Collaborate with the CEO and board to shape vision and school improvement plans.
  • Lead curriculum development, instructional strategies, and assessment practices.

Educational Management

  • Oversee teaching and learning across CAPS, Cambridge, and IEB curricula where applicable.
  • Monitor data analysis to inform decisions and improve student outcomes.
  • Manage budget and resource allocation in line with school priorities.

Culture, People & Community

  • Foster a positive school culture and climate with strong ethical standards.
  • Lead staff development, performance management, and conflict resolution.
  • Engage with parents and the wider community to support learner success.

Minimum Requirements

Education

  • Qualification in education, educational leadership, administration, or a related field.
  • Valid SACE certification.
  • A valid sexual offender’s clearance certificate.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years teaching experience.
  • Minimum 3 years educational management experience.
  • Experience with CAPS, Cambridge, and IEB curricula is advantageous.
