Purpose of Role
The Deputy Head of School / Deputy Principal leads educational strategy and school operations to support student achievement. The role focuses on curriculum leadership, staff development, and effective governance to sustain a thriving school climate.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Collaborate with the CEO and board to shape vision and school improvement plans.
- Lead curriculum development, instructional strategies, and assessment practices.
Educational Management
- Oversee teaching and learning across CAPS, Cambridge, and IEB curricula where applicable.
- Monitor data analysis to inform decisions and improve student outcomes.
- Manage budget and resource allocation in line with school priorities.
Culture, People & Community
- Foster a positive school culture and climate with strong ethical standards.
- Lead staff development, performance management, and conflict resolution.
- Engage with parents and the wider community to support learner success.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Qualification in education, educational leadership, administration, or a related field.
- Valid SACE certification.
- A valid sexual offender’s clearance certificate.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years teaching experience.
- Minimum 3 years educational management experience.
- Experience with CAPS, Cambridge, and IEB curricula is advantageous.
