Purpose of Role
To deliver high-quality English education to Grade 8–12, foster a love of the subject, and participate in the school’s academic and co-curricular activities. The role involves planning, teaching, assessment, and contributing to the wider school community.


Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Curriculum

  • Plan and prepare high-quality, relevant lessons based on current materials.
  • Deliver engaging class teaching that supports progression and adheres to school standards.
  • Assess students continuously, report progress, and implement interventions as needed.

Classroom Management & Student Wellbeing

  • Develop and maintain an effective classroom management system and routines.
  • Support the personal wellbeing and general welfare of all students in your care.

Collaboration & Extracurricular

  • Assist with organising and conducting extra- and co-curricular activities.
  • Attend and contribute to school events, assemblies, workshops, festivals, and parent evenings.

Minimum Requirements

  • Appropriate university degree and professional qualification.
  • At least 5 years of teaching experience at GET and FET levels in English.
  • Ability to teach Further Studies English is recommended.
  • Innovative teacher with a passion for the subject and strong academic standards.
  • Teaching experience within the IEB system will be an advantage.
  • Dynamic, creative personality with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Computer literacy and ability to integrate IT in teaching/learning.
  • Commitment to participate in the school’s extra-mural activities.
  • Identification with and upholding of the school’s values and ethos.
  • Current SACE registration and clearance certificates required.
