Purpose of Role

The Executive Head provides strategic leadership and governance, guiding the school’s vision and ensuring academic excellence, financial sustainability, and robust stakeholder relationships. This role leads the Senior Management Team and collaborates with the Board to deliver on the school’s long-term plan.


Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership — Provide clear strategic direction for the school’s growth and sustainability; work with the Board to implement the long-term vision and strategic plan.
  • Academic Oversight — Maintain high academic standards across all phases; support ECD, Junior School, and High School leaders in teaching and learning excellence.
  • Financial Stewardship — Oversee financial management to ensure long-term sustainability and responsible governance.
  • Human Resources Leadership — Lead the Senior Management Team and wider staff, driving recruitment, development, and retention of high-quality staff.
  • Marketing & Community Engagement — Develop enrolment and marketing strategies; strengthen connections with parents, alumni, and the community.
  • Student Wellbeing — Promote strong pupil support systems and a safe, inclusive environment.
  • Governance & Compliance — Ensure compliance with educational, legal, and regulatory requirements.

Minimum Requirements

  • Appropriate academic and professional qualifications in education
  • Significant leadership experience in a senior school role
  • Experience in strategic leadership and organisational management
  • Strong understanding of curriculum development and educational innovation
  • South African citizenship or permanent residence
  • SACE registration
