Purpose of Role

The Facilities Maintenance Staff support the upkeep of SPARK School premises, helping to create a safe, clean and welcoming learning environment. They assist with repairs, garden and grounds maintenance, and ad-hoc operational tasks as directed by school leadership.


Key Responsibilities

Maintenance & Safety

  • Maintain the upkeep of the school building, gardens, and grounds
  • Report facilities maintenance issues to school leadership and assist with repairs where applicable
  • Ensure premises are safe for students, staff and parents
  • Manage tools and equipment, reporting damaged or lost items for fixing or replacement

Operations & Support

  • Assist with ad-hoc operational tasks, such as moving furniture, coordinating with maintenance and gardening suppliers, or setting up for events
  • Help welcome students during daily arrivals and dismissals as required by leadership
  • Communicate and collaborate professionally with staff, parents and other stakeholders

Professional Development

  • Participate actively in staff development opportunities as a SPARK Schools team member
  • Conduct yourself professionally at all SPARK Schools events and with stakeholders

Minimum Requirements

Education

  • Grade 12 certificate

Experience

  • English language fluency
  • Previous maintenance and/or grounds keeping experience
  • Clear/clean criminal record
