Purpose of Role

To provide high-quality educational experiences in the Foundation Phase, supporting Grade 1 learners with diverse needs and helping them realise their potential within CAPS-aligned learning.


Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Curriculum

  • Deliver engaging, inclusive lessons aligned to the National Curriculum (CAPS)
  • Support learners with diverse needs, including experience with inclusive education principles

Assessment & Progress

  • Plan and implement assessments to monitor student progress
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to IEPs where appropriate

Technology & Collaboration

  • Utilise ICT effectively; working knowledge of Google Suite
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan and share best practice

Professional Growth

  • Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development

Minimum Requirements

Education

  • A recognised degree and/or a 4-year professional teaching qualification

Experience & Registration

  • SACE registration
  • A recognised qualification in Inclusive Education or Special Needs Education
  • Working knowledge of specific learning challenges
  • Experience or familiarity with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) is useful

Competencies

  • Strong problem-solving and creative thinking
  • Good IT skills and a working knowledge of the Google Suite
