Purpose of Role
To provide high-quality educational experiences in the Foundation Phase, supporting Grade 1 learners with diverse needs and helping them realise their potential within CAPS-aligned learning.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Curriculum
- Deliver engaging, inclusive lessons aligned to the National Curriculum (CAPS)
- Support learners with diverse needs, including experience with inclusive education principles
Assessment & Progress
- Plan and implement assessments to monitor student progress
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to IEPs where appropriate
Technology & Collaboration
- Utilise ICT effectively; working knowledge of Google Suite
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan and share best practice
Professional Growth
- Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development
Minimum Requirements
Education
- A recognised degree and/or a 4-year professional teaching qualification
Experience & Registration
- SACE registration
- A recognised qualification in Inclusive Education or Special Needs Education
- Working knowledge of specific learning challenges
- Experience or familiarity with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) is useful
Competencies
- Strong problem-solving and creative thinking
- Good IT skills and a working knowledge of the Google Suite
