Make sure you highlight this date, tell your family, stick it on your fridge – anywhere you will see it every single day, just like you wouldn’t forget your favourite Bollywood movie release!
Getting ready for the big pariksha
Preparation, my young friends, is the key to success. Don’t wait until the last minute, thinking “Kal karunga” (I’ll do it tomorrow). Start now! Break down your syllabus, understand the literary texts, the poetry, the prose, and practice your essay writing. Hindi HL P2 often requires a deep understanding of themes, character analysis, and expressing your thoughts clearly and eloquently in Hindi. Read past papers, understand the marking scheme, and perhaps form a small study group with your friends. Discussing concepts helps solidify them in your mind. On the day of the exam: What to do and what to bring
On Friday, October 24, 2025, when it is time for your Hindi HL P2 exam at 14:00, please make sure you arrive at the exam venue well in advance. Aim to be there at least 45 minutes to an hour before the start time. This gives you time to find your classroom, settle down, visit the restroom, and calm any pre-exam jitters. Don’t rush, don’t stress. A calm mind performs better, *haan*.
Things to take with to the exam hall for Hindi HL P2:
- Your original, valid South African ID document or your birth certificate. No ID, no entry, remember this, *mere pyaare*!
- Your official admission ticket (pravesh patra). This is your golden ticket!
- At least two pens, blue or black ink only. Make sure they are working perfectly. No point getting stuck mid-sentence, *nahin*?
- A transparent pencil case, if you use one, so everything is visible and organised.
- A transparent water bottle. Staying hydrated helps you think clearly.
- No cellphones, no smartwatches, no notes, no dictionaries, no reference books. Only your knowledge and your honest efforts are allowed inside.
- Bring your *shaanti* (peace) and confidence. You have worked hard, now it’s time to show it!
Inside the exam hall, maintain silence. Listen carefully to all instructions given by the invigilator. Read your question paper thoroughly before you start writing. Plan your answers, especially for the longer questions like essays or literary analyses, for Hindi HL P2. Manage your time wisely, so you can attempt all questions. And most importantly, write clearly and neatly. Your answers should be understandable to the examiner, *na*? Be polite and respectful to everyone.
Keep reminding yourself and stay motivated
To remind yourself of the date, you can set alarms on your phone, write it on a sticky note on your study desk, or even make a countdown calendar. Visual reminders are very powerful.
