The Gauteng Department of Health has completely crushed its initial targets for the Lenacapavir rollout statistics Gauteng, proving that locals are highly receptive to this new HIV-prevention method. Provincial tracking reports indicate that over 7,400 injection packs and 7,500 oral tablet starter packs are sitting safely in clinic dispensaries. On top of that, a massive secondary consignment containing 9,830 additional packs landed at the central Medical Supplies Depot at the end of June to ensure uninterrupted access.

While provincial leaders are understandably chuffed with these stellar numbers, they are quickly reminding residents that lenacapavir isn’t a magical silver bullet. The injection offers near-total efficacy against HIV transmission, but it does absolutely nothing to stop other sexually transmitted infections (STIs) or unplanned pregnancies. Because of this, healthcare workers are still strongly advising clients to combine the jab with regular condom use and routine sexual health screenings.
