Purpose of Role

The Personalised Learning Facilitator supports student achievement by managing the Learning Lab, delivering small‑group and individual tutoring in literacy and maths, and integrating SPARK’s culture, SEL curriculum, and technology across lessons. The role involves collaboration with teachers and school leaders to tailor learning plans and ensure effective use of hardware and software in the lab.


Key Responsibilities

Learning Lab Management

  • Create a positive student culture around online learning and small group tutoring.
  • Maintain high behavioural expectations and ensure resources are used responsibly.
  • Report hardware damages and maintain a current asset list with the School Operations Manager.

Teaching & Interventions

  • Coach students on computer programs and ensure educational software meets needs.
  • Tutor small groups in literacy and maths; deliver planned tutoring sessions.
  • Prepare and submit bi‑weekly reports on maths progress (ST Maths).

Collaboration & Documentation

  • Work with teachers and administrators to create individual learning plans.
  • Incorporate SPARK SEL curriculum and culture management strategies.
  • Attend staff development opportunities and be prepared to cover classes as needed.

Minimum Requirements

Education

  • Grade 12 Certificate.
  • Part‑time study towards a B.Ed. or PGCE in the Foundation Phase (3rd or 4th year preferred).
  • Provisional SACE registration.

Experience

  • Previous experience with primary school‑aged children.
  • Basic computer skills; willingness to learn new technology.

  • Fluent in English; clear criminal record.
