Purpose of Role: SPARK Schools personalised learning facilitators in the foundation phase drive student achievement by overseeing the culture and effectiveness of the Learning Lab. They work directly with students in whole class, small group, and individual settings to provide academic interventions in literacy and maths, contributing to our culture of rigorous, engaging learning experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Learning Lab Culture & Behaviour
- Create a positive student culture around online learning and small group tutoring; maintain high behavioural expectations.
- Incorporate SPARK SEL (Social-Emotional Learning) into interactions with scholars.
- Instruction & Program Support
- Coach students on computer programs; ensure educational software meets student needs.
- Tutor small groups in literacy and maths; create and submit lesson plans for tutoring sessions.
- Submit bi-weekly reports on ST Maths and collaborate with teachers to develop individualised learning plans.
- Resource & Asset Management
- Use and store Learning Lab resources responsibly; report damages and complete incident reports as required.
- Maintain an updated asset list of hardware in the Learning Lab.
- Professional Development & Coverage
- Participate in staff development; cover classrooms when required; maintain professional conduct at events.
Minimum Requirements
- Education
- Grade 12 Certificate.
- Studying part-time towards a B.Ed. or PGCE in the Foundation Phase, in year 3 or 4, with a view to becoming a qualified teacher.
- Provisional SACE registration.
- Experience
- Previous experience managing or working with primary school-aged children.
- Basic computer skills and willingness to learn new technology.
