Purpose of Role

The role exists to lead high-quality teaching of Physical and Life Sciences in the FET Phase, contributing to a rigorous, engaging curriculum and supporting scholars’ academic and social development. This educator will work collaboratively to deliver an integrated, inquiry-based programme and help scholars reach matriculation and career goals.


Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Delivery

  • Plan, teach and co-teach face-to-face and distance lessons; deliver academic and clubs lessons.
  • Collaborate with grade level and content area partners to create rigorous learning experiences and individualised behaviour and learning plans.
  • Deliver formative and termly assessments; track progress and intervene where needed.

Student Support & Development

  • Lead social and emotional development through CQ sessions and reflections.
  • Plan and monitor programmes to support low or extend high performing scholars.
  • Participate in place-based education and career/tertiary pathways education as required.

Professional Practice & Culture

  • Participate in professional development sessions; implement SPARK culture and behaviour management strategies.
  • Communicate professionally with colleagues, parents and stakeholders; attend events and parent meetings.
  • Adhere to child protection, anti-bullying and health and safety policies.

Minimum Requirements

Education & Registration

  • English language fluency
  • Completed a B.Ed or PGCE degree in Sciences
  • SACE registration
  • Clear/criminal record

Experience & Competencies

  • 2-3 years of high school teaching experience
  • Ability to work within a high-performing, data-driven school environment
