Purpose of Role
The Data Analyst will manage and continually improve ISASA’s data management systems, oversee related data projects, and develop predictive analytics to monitor trends affecting member schools and the education sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Management & Reporting
- Manage and refine the ISASA Data Management System.
- Oversee the Bopa Thuto NPC Data Management System.
- Manage and continuously improve the ISASA Salary Survey.
- Co-manage the ISASA annual membership census and interpret trends.
- Identify and model big data sources to produce useful reports for member schools.
- Analyse and report research findings and data trends to the organisation.
- Invoicing & Compliance
- Manage and monitor membership invoicing based on the ISASA Data Management System.
- Analytics & Insights
- Develop predictive analytics to monitor trends at member schools and the education sector.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Bachelor of Science degree with a concentration in Computer or Data Science, including Statistics.
Experience
- Ideally 3 to 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Experience in an independent school environment is not essential but advantageous.
Competencies
- Analytical, problem-solving, technical, systems and communication skills.
- Proficiency in SQL, SAS, and strong knowledge of databases, data gathering front ends, data storage, data security, ETL, data wrangling, and data visualisation tools (e.g. Power BI, QlikView, Excel).
- Front-end systems knowledge (e.g., HTML, Power Apps).
- Ability to utilise a big data framework for automated data acquisition and analysis.
- Advanced Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills; positive interpersonal skills.
- Strong written and oral communication; high energy; meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to meet deadlines; client service orientation; discretion and confidentiality.
