Purpose of Role: Foundation Phase Maths Teachers at SPARK Schools drive student achievement by maintaining high expectations for classroom culture, behaviour, and academic growth. You will deliver foundational maths instruction and participate in ongoing professional development tailored to your experience and needs.

Key Responsibilities
– Planning & Instruction
– Plan and deliver lessons to Foundation Phase students
– Provide instruction across subjects with engaging plans and resources
– Attend pre-service and ongoing professional development
– Collaboration & Student Support
– Collaborate with grade level and content-area partners to create engaging learning experiences
– Develop individualised behaviour and learning plans; support both face-to-face and online learners
– Lead weekly Social Emotional Learning (SEL) circles and implement SPARK SEL curriculum
– Assessment & Data
– Administer weekly and termly assessments
– Analyse data to track student growth and progress
– Submit student results data as required
– Culture & Professionalism
– Maintain SPARK culture and apply behaviour management strategies
– Communicate professionally with colleagues, parents, and stakeholders
– Attend Saturday events and parent community meetings
– Adhere to child protection, anti-bullying, and health & safety policies
– Promote SPARK Schools’ vision and mission to the community

Minimum Requirements
– Education
– B.Ed or PGCE (Foundation Phase)
– SAQA accreditation for non-South African qualifications, and SACE certification
– English language fluency
– Experience
– Recently qualified teachers encouraged to apply; experienced teachers welcome
