Purpose of Role
The Personalised Learning Facilitator drives student achievement by overseeing the Learning Lab, SPARK’s computer lab. You will work with students in whole-class, small-group and individual settings to deliver literacy and maths interventions, while embedding SPARK culture, behaviour management, and Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) into daily practice.
Key Responsibilities
Learning Lab Management
- Maintain a positive culture around online learning and small-group tutoring; uphold high behavioural expectations.
- Coach students on computer programmes and ensure software meets needs.
- Manage and store Learning Lab resources responsibly; report damages to hardware and keep an updated asset list.
Teaching & Intervention
- Create and submit lesson plans for tutoring sessions.
- Tutor small groups in literacy and maths; provide targeted interventions.
- Submit bi-weekly reports on ST Maths.
Collaboration & Reporting
- Work with teachers and school administrators to develop personalised learning plans.
- Incorporate SPARK SEL curriculum into daily practice.
- Participate in staff development opportunities and cover a classroom when needed.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Grade 12 Certificate
- Studying part-time towards a B.Ed. or PGCE in Foundation Phase (3rd or 4th year) with a view to becoming a qualified teacher
- Provisional SACE registration
Experience
- Experience with primary school-aged children
- Basic computer skills and willingness to learn new technology
