Purpose of Role

The School Operations Supervisor drives student achievement by overseeing lunch, break and aftercare, ensuring safety, health, and engaging learning experiences. This role supports the SPARK culture and our commitment to rigorous, engaging education for scholars.

Key Responsibilities

Supervision & Safety

  • Supervise lunch and break periods during the instructional day.
  • Enforce SPARK’s healthy food scheme by checking scholar lunches.
  • Maintain safety and follow network-wide procedures for dismissal and late pick-ups during aftercare.

Aftercare & Enrichment

  • Supervise a class of students during aftercare, including homework support where needed, play, and structured activities.
  • Plan engaging enrichment experiences for the longer aftercare on Monday afternoons.
  • Use SPARK culture and behaviour management strategies to support positive classroom dynamics.

Communication & Collaboration

  • Communicate professionally with parents and line managers about incidents or concerns during aftercare.
  • Collaborate with school leaders and staff as required and assist with ad hoc tasks (e.g., Learning Lab support, covering for absent staff, event setup).

Professional Development

  • Participate in staff development opportunities and model professional behavior at SPARK events.

Minimum Requirements

Education

  • Grade 12 certificate
  • Studying towards a First Year B.Ed degree (preferred)

Experience

  • Previous experience working with primary school-aged children
  • Clear criminal record

Competencies

  • English language fluency
