Purpose of Role
The Supervisor supports student achievement by maintaining a positive, safe, and well-ordered atmosphere during lunch and break periods and through aftercare. They implement SPARK’s culture and behaviour management strategies, supervise activities, and contribute to a high-quality, engaging aftercare programme.
Key Responsibilities
Administration & Safety
- Supervise lunch and break periods during the instructional day.
- Enforce SPARK’s healthy food scheme by checking scholar lunches.
- Follow network-wide safety procedures during aftercare and dismissal.
Student Support & Enrichment
- Supervise a class of students during aftercare, including homework completion if needed, play and structured activities.
- Plan engaging enrichment experiences for Monday afternoon aftercare.
- Assist with ad hoc tasks such as Learning Lab support or event setup when required.
Communication & Collaboration
- Communicate professionally with parents and line managers about incidents or concerns during aftercare.
- Collaborate with school leaders and staff as required.
Professional Development
- Participate in staff development opportunities and conduct yourself professionally at SPARK events and with stakeholders.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Grade 12 certificate
Experience
- Previous experience working with primary school-aged children or in a supervisory role is preferred.
Competencies
- Fluent English
- Clear criminal record
- Ability to manage groups of learners and promote a positive learning culture
