Purpose of Role

The Supervisor oversees lunch, break and aftercare to support student achievement, health and safety. They help create a positive SPARK culture, supervise activities, and coordinate with school leaders to deliver engaging, structured experiences for scholars.


Key Responsibilities

Administration & Safety

  • Supervise lunch and break periods during the instructional day
  • Ensure the healthy food scheme is followed by checking lunches
  • Follow network-wide safety procedures during aftercare

Student Support & Enrichment

  • Supervise a class during aftercare, including homework and structured activities
  • Plan engaging enrichment experiences for longer Monday afternoon aftercare
  • Ensure resources are used responsibly and effectively

Communication & Collaboration

  • Communicate professionally with parents and line managers about incidents or concerns
  • Collaborate with school leaders and staff as required
  • Assist with ad hoc tasks, such as Learning Lab support or event setup

Compliance & Development

  • Maintain professional conduct at SPARK events and with stakeholders
  • Participate in staff development opportunities

Minimum Requirements

Education

  • Grade 12 certificate

Experience

  • English language fluency
  • Previous experience managing or working with primary school-aged children
  • Clear criminal record

Competencies

  • Reliable and collaborative
  • Strong communication and classroom management
  • Ability to plan and deliver engaging activities
