SPARK Schools is seeking a Supervisor for Lunch, Break and Aftercare to join our Johannesburg-based SPARK Witpoortjie team. This role supports student achievement by overseeing daily routines, safety, and enrichment activities during lunch, break and aftercare, reporting to the School Operations Coordinator.

Purpose of Role
The Supervisor oversees student care and behaviour during lunch, break and aftercare, ensuring safety, health, and engaging activities while supporting school leaders and staff.
Key Responsibilities
Administration & Safety
- Supervise lunch and break periods during the instructional day.
- Enforce SPARK’s healthy food scheme by checking lunches.
- Follow network-wide safety and dismissal procedures for aftercare and late pick-ups.
Student Experience & Enrichment
- Supervise a class of students during aftercare, including homework support and structured activities.
- Plan engaging enrichment experiences for extended Monday aftercare.
- Ensure resources are used responsibly and effectively.
Communication & Collaboration
- Provide professional communications with parents and line managers regarding incidents or concerns.
- Collaborate with school leaders and staff as required.
Others
- Assist with ad hoc tasks such as Learning Lab support, covering absent staff or event setup.
- Participate in staff development and maintain professional conduct at SPARK events.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Grade 12 certificate
- Studying towards a First Year B.Ed Degree (preferred but not required)
Experience
- Experience in managing or working with primary school-aged children
- English language fluency
- Clear criminal record
