Purpose of Role
Security guards ensure the school grounds and facilities are safe and secure during operational hours. They are integral to SPARK Schools’ culture and our commitment to a world-class learning environment for scholars.
Key Responsibilities
Security & safety
- Close the school grounds daily (manual lock and rearm the alarm)
- Patrol grounds and monitor the gate to ensure safety of students, staff and visitors
- Adhere to SPARK safety and security procedures
- Report safety and security issues to school leadership
Front-of-house & Visitor Management
- Welcome visitors, record personal details, issue guest passes, and direct them to staff
- Assist with sign-out and return of guest passes at departure
Ad hoc Operations
- Assist with dismissal procedures for student safety
- Support with ad hoc tasks such as moving furniture, coordinating with maintenance/gardening suppliers, and event setup
- Collaborate with facilities maintenance staff and communicate professionally with staff
Development & Conduct
- Participate in staff development and act professionally at school events
- Report suspicious activity or items promptly
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Grade 12 certificate
Experience
- Previous security guarding experience
- Police clearance certificate
- PSiRA registration
- Security certificate (Grade B or C)
