SCHOOL SECRETARY

January 2026

An opportunity exists for an exceptional School Secretary to join the school in January 2026. This role is key in providing high level support to the Head of School, managing day-to-day operations and ensuring a well-coordinated, welcoming environment for all.

Duties:

  • Calendar and Correspondence Management: overseeing the Head’s schedule, appointments and manage communications.
  • Confidential Information Handling: exercising professionalism and discretion when managing sensitive information.

Administrative Support:

  • Friendly assistance for pupils, parents, staff and visitors.
  • Preparation of letters, reports and other documents as needed.
  • Proofreading and editing for accuracy, and consistency.
  • Interview co-ordination and documentation management.
  • Procurement of office and first aid supplies.
  • Availability during school holidays.
  • Photocopying of worksheets and administering of first aid.

Meetings & Events Coordination:

  • Support for event planning, including school functions and special projects. Creative Communications:
  • Collaboration on internal and external communications, to produce engaging presentations, newsletters and materials.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Matric certificate and at least 2 years of appropriate professional experience within a similar position.
  • Proven experience and proficiency in using MS Office Suite and the Google Suite.
  • Experience with the ADAM administration system and a valid First Aid certificate are advantageous.
  • Experience with GDE, SA SAMS, IEB and ISASA submissions and with the Entegy Application would also be advantageous.
