Job Title: Teacher of Social Sciences and Life Orientation
Position Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher of Social Sciences and Life Orientation to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Social Sciences and Life Orientation education, and be committed to providing high-quality instruction to students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver engaging and interactive lessons in social sciences and life orientation to students
- Use a variety of teaching methods to cater to different learning styles and abilities
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and supported
- Assess students’ progress and provide timely feedback to help them achieve their academic goals
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan and implement cross-curricular projects and initiatives
- Stay current with trends in social sciences and life orientation education and incorporate new ideas and approaches into teaching practice
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a successful learning experience for all
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in education, Social Sciences, or a related field
- SACE certificate
- Previous experience teaching social sciences and life orientation at the secondary level
- Strong knowledge of curriculum standards and best practices in social sciences and life orientation education
- A passion for working with young people and helping them develop critical thinking skills and responsible decision-making abilities
