Purpose of Role

The FET Phase Physical and Life Science Educator brings subject expertise to classrooms, supporting student achievement and engagement. You will plan, teach and co-teach lessons, collaborate with colleagues, and contribute to a culture of high expectations and personalised learning.


Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Curriculum

  • Plan, teach and co-teach face-to-face and distance lessons, delivering academic and clubs sessions.
  • Collaborate with grade level and content partners to create rigorous, engaging lessons and individualised behaviour and learning plans for scholars.
  • Develop and administer formative and termly assessments; analyse data to drive student growth.
  • Lead social and emotional development through CQ sessions and reflections.

Student Support & Assessment

  • Monitor programmes to support low performing scholars and extend high performing scholars.
  • Participate in place-based education and career/tertiary pathways education as part of scholar development.
  • Submit and analyse student data to track progress and intervene when necessary.

Professional Practice

  • Communicate professionally with colleagues, parents and stakeholders; model professional conduct at SPARK events.
  • Nurture a high-achieving environment where scholars feel valued and supported; promote SPARK’s vision and mission.
  • Contribute to behavioural management strategies and participate in all scheduled professional development and Saturday events.

Compliance & Commitment

  • Adhere to child protection, anti-bullying, and health & safety policies; participate in crisis management and community activities.
  • Attend parent community meetings and submit student results data when required.

Minimum Requirements

Education

  • B.Ed or PGCE in Sciences SP FET Phase

Experience

  • 2–3 years of high school teaching experience.
