Purpose of Role
Blended learning facilitators drive student achievement by overseeing online learning, project-based learning and independent work time. They work with students in whole class, small group and individual contexts to uphold SPARK culture and deliver engaging, rigorous learning experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Student Culture & Behaviour
- Foster a positive culture around online learning and independent work time.
- Maintain high behavioural expectations for all students.
Learning Support & Technology
- Coach students on computer programs and ensure educational software meets student needs.
- Create and submit project-based learning lesson plans in collaboration with intermediate phase teachers.
- Communicate with teachers and school leaders to develop individualised learning plans.
- Utilise SPARK culture and behaviour management strategies and integrate the SPARK SEL curriculum.
Operations & Environment
- Ensure resources and assets are used responsibly and report hardware damages or incidents as required.
- Optimise timetables to maximise learning time.
- Participate in staff development and behave professionally at all SPARK events and with stakeholders.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Grade 12 Certificate
- Police clearance certificate
- Studying part-time towards a B.Ed. or PGCE in the Intermediate or Senior Phase (3rd or 4th Year), aiming to become a qualified teacher
- Provisional SACE registration
Experience
- Previous experience with primary school-aged children
- Basic computer skills; willingness to learn new technology
