Purpose of Role
Junior Teachers support academic excellence by facilitating small group instruction, reinforcing content mastery, and contributing to classroom routines. They help shape scholar growth while developing the skills to take full ownership of a class over time.
Key Responsibilities
Instruction & Curriculum Delivery
- Plan and deliver all academic lessons in-person and via distance learning.
- Facilitate academic, clubs and enrichment sessions aligned to SPARK’s standards.
- Engage in place-based education and implement curriculum enrichment activities.
- Teach through project-based learning and use data to personalise instruction.
- Lead coding and robotics lessons where appropriate.
Collaboration & Planning
- Assist with marking and data tracking for assessments and exams.
- Design and implement personalised learning plans (PLPs) in collaboration with colleagues.
- Participate in professional development, mentoring, check-ins and instructional coaching.
- Observe lessons as part of development for best practice.
Scholar Progress & Culture
- Monitor scholar academic performance and analyse data to plan interventions.
- Support participation in intervention programs and school events.
- Engage in CQ (Character Quotient) sessions and uphold SPARK values and culture.
- Promote an inclusive, diverse and welcoming school environment.
Professionalism & Stakeholder Management
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, families and stakeholders.
- Maintain professionalism at all SPARK events and engagements.
- Support SPARK’s vision, mission and values in every interaction.
Compliance & Safety
- Adhere to crisis management, child protection, anti-bullying and health & safety policies.
- Support operational processes and submit data and records as required.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- B.Ed. or PGCE (Intermediate Phase). Newly qualified teachers are encouraged to apply.
Experience
- Recently qualified teachers or teachers with experience are welcome to apply.
