Purpose of Role

The Inside Facilities Maintenance Staff member helps keep the school building, gardens and grounds well maintained. They contribute to a safe, welcoming environment and assist with practical tasks to support daily operations and events.


Key Responsibilities

Facilities upkeep

  • Maintain the upkeep of the school building, gardens and grounds.
  • Report facilities issues to school leadership and assist with repairs where applicable.
  • Ensure premises are safe for students, staff and parents.

Operational support

  • Assist with ad‑hoc operational tasks, such as moving furniture, coordinating with maintenance and gardening suppliers, or setting up for events.
  • Manage tools and equipment, reporting damaged or lost items for fixing or replacement.
  • Assist with welcoming students during daily arrivals and dismissals, as required by school leadership.

Communication & Professionalism

  • Communicate professionally with staff, parents and other stakeholders as required.
  • Participate in staff development opportunities and conduct oneself professionally at SPARK Schools events.
