Purpose of Role

The Assistant Directress supports classroom management and delivers the Montessori approach for children aged 3–6. The role includes aftercare duties, promoting independence, and maintaining a safe, orderly classroom while engaging in continuous professional development.

Key Responsibilities

Classroom & Curriculum

• Support classroom management and deliver the Montessori philosophy for ages 3–6.
• Maintain a calm, orderly classroom with a full set of Montessori materials.
• Observe, support and nurture children’s independence and social–emotional development.

Programme Support

• Assist with the school aftercare programme.
• Engage in ongoing learning and build professional relationships with staff.

Safety & Standards

• Maintain high standards of safety and care at all times.

Minimum Requirements

Education and Training

• Montessori qualification, currently studying for one, or willingness to study for a Montessori 3–6 diploma.

Experience and Skills

• A thorough understanding of child development for ages 3–6.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Calm, patient, and reflective approach to working with young children.
