The SRD R350 grant application can be done online at srd.sassa.gov.za application page.
You can also apply by SMS or by visiting a SASSA office.
To apply online, you will need the following:
- Your South African ID number
- Your cellphone number
- Your bank account details (if you want to be paid into a bank account)
Once you have submitted your application, you will receive an SMS with a confirmation number. You can use this confirmation number to check the status of your application.
The application process is simple and takes about 10 minutes to complete. You can apply at any time of the day or night.
Here are the steps on how to apply for the SRD R350 grant online:

Go to the SRD R350 grant website: https://srd.sassa.gov.za/
Click on the “Apply for the SRD R350 grant” button.
Enter your South African ID number and cellphone number.
Click on the “Continue” button.
Answer the screening questions.
Select your preferred payment method.
Click on the “Submit” button.
You will receive an SMS with a confirmation number. You can use this confirmation number to check the status of your application.
The SRD R350 grant is paid out on the 1st and 20th of each month. You can check the status of your payment by SMS or by visiting a SASSA office.
To check the status of your payment by SMS, send an SMS to 32586 with the word “STATUS” and your ID number.
To check the status of your payment by visiting a SASSA office, bring your South African ID number and proof of address.
